Regenerated energy utilizing equipment:


More economical energy utilization becomes necessary in the operation of electrical traction vehicles due to the price development. One of the possibilities how to make the operation more economical that Cegelec offers to its customers is the regeerated energy storage system using the ultracapacitor technology.

  • Basic features of ultracapacitors

  • Carbon electrodes with extremely large surface

    • Organic electrolyte
    • Significantly higher energetic and power density compared with classical capacitors
    • maximal voltage 2,5 Vand capacity 2600 F per one cell

  • Benefits of the equipment

    • full potential of the regenerated energy utilized more economically
    • Problems removed with voltage losses in the remote points of the traction network
    • Power supply provided to short extended parts of the track sections (ca 0,5 km) without additional equipment of the
      substations being necessary
    • Current peaks in the supply network covered
    • Reduction possible of the traction substation installed capacity with a positive impact on costs
    • Traction network stabilized, i.e. its fluctuation reduced
    • Environmental benefit (mitigation of environmental damage caused by electricity generation)
